Hi Everyone!
Welcome to Cancer Council NSW's The Color Run Team. We are really thrilled to have you on board!
Every year in NSW alone, more than 36,600 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed - about 100 each and every day in NSW. On average, 36 people will die from the disease every day in this state, and the impacts on families, carers and communities are considerable. Cancer Council NSW is therefore committed to diminishing the toll wrought by every cancer diagnosis and death. But since we are 96% community funded, we rely on people such as you for support.
Your support will help Cancer Council NSW truly make a significant difference in the fight against cancer. Here's how your support supports us:
- $50 can help the Cancer Council Helpline 13 11 20 provide free and confidential information and support on all aspects of cancer.
- $100 can help provide free accommodation to cancer patients, their families and carers during treatment.
- $500 can allow a research team to purchase tissue samples for use in investigating the causes of cancer, as well as potential treatment options.
- $1000 can assist to fund clinical trials, which test new and better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Clinical trials ensure cancer patients have access to promising new treatments.
- $1500 can help fund ground-breaking research into the causes of cancer and into new and improved treatments
If you have any questions at all or would like some advice on fundraising, please do not hesitate to contact me directly on 9334 1754 or phoebem@nswcc.org.au.
I wish you all the very best in your training and fundraising!
Warm regards,
Phoebe Malcolm
